getting things done.
Find quick answers for capturing receipts, syncing between devices and creating reports on iPhone and Mac.
Quick start
Your first report in three steps.
- 1
Capture and check
Add a receipt with your camera or photo library. The app reads the basics and remembers your last client and project; review the result before saving.
- 2
Set your defaults
Add a report recipient, your name and ID, plus any mileage or tax-recognition settings.
- 3
Create your report
Choose a date range, review the included receipts, and create matching PDF and CSV files.
Common questions
Good to know.
Open a question for the short answer.
Why can’t I create an email report?
First set a recipient email address in Settings. You also need at least one receipt inside the reporting date range. On iPhone, Apple Mail must be available for the in-app composer; on Mac, a compatible email sharing service must be configured.
How do I correct a scanned receipt?
Open the receipt and review the recognised vendor, date, total and tax. Correct anything that needs attention, add business details such as client or project, then save. Receipt recognition is a helpful starting point, so always check the result.
How do I sync iPhone and Mac?
Sign in to the same iCloud account on both devices, enable iCloud Drive, and allow Receipt Manager to use iCloud. Changes can take a short time to appear on another device.
Where is my data stored?
Receipt records are stored on your device and in your private iCloud database for synchronisation. Receipt Manager has no developer-operated account database. See the privacy policy for full details.
Can I keep receipts for more than one entity?
Yes. Use clients, projects and expense types to separate work, private or other expense contexts. The last client and project carry into the next capture, and you can change them before saving.
How does mileage work?
Set your current per-kilometre rate in Settings. When you save mileage, that rate is stored with the receipt, so changing the default later does not alter your past records.
How are foreign currencies detected?
Choose your reporting currency in Settings. The iPhone looks for explicit ISO codes beside amounts, currency names, and country or address clues. Clear evidence—such as PGK beside an amount or Papua New Guinea in an address—overrides the last-used currency. If the receipt is unclear, the app reuses the last confirmed currency and then falls back to the reporting currency. Always confirm the suggestion before saving.
Can I crop a receipt from Photos?
Yes. Choose a receipt from Photos, move or resize the crop box, then choose Use Crop. Large photos are optimised on your iPhone before cropping to keep the editor responsive while preserving enough detail for receipt recognition.
How do I import clients and projects?
Choose Import Clients & Projects CSV in Settings. The file needs a Client column; Project Number and Project Description are optional. You can review the usable rows before importing.
How do I delete a receipt or report?
Delete receipts directly from the app. Sent reports moved to the Bin can be restored or removed immediately; otherwise, the app permanently removes them after 30 days.
